How It Works
Home
If you have one of today's digital cameras (especially an SLR digital camera) then you've probably taken
a great shot that you would love to have turned into a poster to proudly display in your home or office.
Or maybe you're a graphics artist or designer and you have that award winning design you'd like to show off in a big way.
You should make sure that the image you upload is the same aspect ratio as the poster you are having printed or we will adjust accordingly and you could loose part of the image when it is cropped and printed. The cropping options are only relevant if the aspect ratio of the image uploaded is different than the aspect ratio of the poster. Click Here to View Results of Cropping Options/Examples. Still need help in determing the best size for the image you have? Click Here for Sizing/Aspect Ratio Chart
Currently we limit the size of the image you can upload to 30MB. If your image is larger then this, you will need to optimize it in your graphic editing program before uploading or call us for other options.
The best type of image to upload is a JPG image with 150-300 dpi resolution and at least 1/4 the size of the poster size requested.
Low resolution or small pixel dimension images will produce lower quality posters and you will be notified by email if we feel the image uploaded will not produce a quality print.
Can't find the size you need. Just choose the next largest size and make a note in the special instructions field telling us the dimensions you want the poster printed and cut to. (Maximum 24 inch width - maximum 84 inch length)
Borderless prints will automatically be enlarged approx. 1/4" to allow for bleed off the edge of the paper.
Classic border prints will automatically be reduced approx. 1/4" to allow room for 1/4" white border around print.
If you are setting the color profile of the image, please use RGB and not CMYK.
We don't make color adjustments or enhancements unless you specify us to do so in the special instructions field, so make sure your images are adjusted the way you want them before you upload them.
After you upload the image you have the choice to either checkout or order additional sizes or posters of different images.
Once you are ready to check out, we will transfer you to our secure server (secure.5MinutePhoto.com - our hosting/credit card processing site) where you can enter your shipping and billing information (we take Visa or Mastercard). Once you have
completed the checkout you will get a confirmation e-mail with a detailed summary of your order.
Your images will be printed using ONLY quality, genuine Kodak or Epson Professional Grade Premium Luster photographic paper (see next item for other paper types), and then will be shipped to you via Priority Mail. Call us for pricing/availability, if you need your order shipped overnight.
We do offer the following 3 special papers but ONLY if you request them in the Special Instruction box (Premium Glossy, Doubleweight Matte, Lighter weight [7 Mil] Semi-gloss poster paper).
If you leave your browser sitting idle for more than about 30 minutes your session may be lost and any order information may be lost.
We know you'll be happy with our printing quality and service and proud of your photograph or graphic design hanging as a beautiful poster in your home, office or art gallery.
Posters also make great gift ideas for others, especially if the picture is of them or something of their's (child, pet, home, flowers, etc.)
Many people have even started their own home based businesses selling custom posters in their local community using ThePosterPlace.com as their printing source.
All you have to do is go through our simple process of selecting the size and quantity of the poster you desire. Then just upload
your print ready digital image to our servers. This may take a while if you have a slow internet connection or a slow uplink speed on your cable/DSL connection. The
uplink speed is not the same as your downlink speed. Normally the downlink speed is much faster than your uplink speed, since most of the time when you are surfing
the internet, you are downloading data and images. But when you upload an image to our server, you are uploading and so it will probably take longer than it would if you were downloading the image from a web site.
IT'S THAT EASY!
